How House Sitters can help you

As a private home owner you may be concerned that a newspaper notice of a funeral or wedding may highlight to the wrong people that the house is likely to be unoccupied at a given time. Post piled up inside a glass door or free newspapers stuck in the letterbox while people are on holidays would be another give away sign that the house is unoccupied. It might be too inconvenient or costly to travel across town, take time off work etc when access to a house is required to accept delivery of a parcel or give access to service man to fix a washing machine. If away for extended periods getting the lawn cut could be organised or post could be forwarded to you.

As an absent landlord you may be interested in having someone allow access for viewing to potential rental clients. After all the properties that were flooded due to burst pipes over the last few Christmases you may want someone to check that the heat comes on if the house is empty over the holiday period or if worst comes to worst and leaks are found to get a plumber in as quickly as possible to minimise any damage. Better still we might prevent the damage altogether by turning off the water supply into the property and draining water from the system when the house becomes vacant and turn water back on just before it is due to be reoccupied.

Cover under insurance policies often lapses if a house is unoccupied for over 30 days. If this is a concern to you we may be able to help you out.
